14 The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”
15 “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”
16 The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.”
God promised to give Gideon the strength to do what he had to do. God told him that he would be with him, but Gideon made excuses. He could only see his limitations. He could not see how God could work through him. We are called to serve God in different ways. God will provide the tools and strength you need to accomplish your task. He knows you. God does not make mistakes. So, if God has asked you to serve him in some way, do not spend time making excuses. Spend your time doing what God wants you to do.
