Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, And I shall dwell forever [throughout all my days] in the house and in the presence of the Lord.
God’s goodness, mercy and unfailing love will follow us all the days of our lives, because we live in communion and fellowship with Him. We will not only dwell in His presence for all eternity, but we can abide in His presence and be centered in His Word, every day of our lives. And the result of our living in His presence is that His goodness is produced in us. We would not need to ‘seek out’ God’s goodness as something we forever strive after, because His goodness will always follow after us and is with us. God’s goodness is one of the fruit of the Spirit, which is developed in us—so we don’t need to ‘chase after it’.
As we live this way, God’s goodness, mercy and unfailing love will be ours—new every morning. He will continue to lead us, provide for us and protect us as we ‘allow’ Him to and as we continue ‘abiding’ in Him. His hand will remain upon us with blessing, grace, guidance and provision because His goodness shall follow us throughout our lives.
This is the result of living in relationship with Him. We must glorify Him and bring Him honor with our whole lives.
