Genesis 37:29-30 New International Version (NIV)
29 When Reuben returned to the cistern and saw that Joseph was not there, he tore his clothes. 30 He went back to his brothers and said, “The boy isn’t there! Where can I turn now?”
Reuben returned to the cistern to find Joseph, but when he got back, his brother was gone. At first he was more concerned about what would happen to himself. He should have been more concerned with what was going to happen to Joseph. In a tough situation, are you more concerned about yourself. Make sure you consider the person who is most affected by the problem, and you will be more likely to find a solution.
