Did I get your attention with the title of “RAGE!!! I hope you’re reading this now.
Last week Saturday I drove to Green Bay, Wisconsin to watch the Packers football game on Sunday. On my drive Saturday there were 3 separate occasions where I witnessed SIGNIFICANT road rage. It caught my attention each time because it was so clear to me that these respective drivers were so angry at each other and clueless about what else was happening in the lanes of traffic surrounding them.
I had a number of hours on my drive to talk with God about these road rage situations. The Bible verses that came to mind for me in that time were James 1:19-20 NIV: My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.
What do we as men do with our anger? Do we stuff it down? Do we let it out by punching something? Or do we rage around and scare the people around us?
Way too often we try to process our own anger or rage. What if we actually took the time to pray about it? To connect with a faith brother to explain and process our emotions? So grateful for our Vital Men groups and the monthly Warrior Men Breakfast where we can connect and process with other men who are also learning to daily walk as Jesus-followers. Let’s keep walking brothers. Let’s keep showing up for each other. Let’s keep testifying to the truths of the Bible and of God.
