Jacob Prepares to Meet Esau

32 Jacob also went on his way, and the angels of God met him.

Angels would often appear in human form, but they must have looked different. Jacob recognized them at once. Why would angels of God meet Jacob? The reason is not stated, but because of this meeting, Jacob was reassured that God was with him. Jacob was not sure of this meeting with his brother. The last time he had seen him, his brother wanted to kill him. Now, Jacob had a family to protect. God reassured Jacob that he and his family would be just fine. This was a reassurance that gave Jacob courage to move forward. Many times in our lives, we need that reassurance. God is for you. Look to him for reassurance. He is your Heavenly Father.
