1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [that is, separate you from profane and vulgar things, make you pure and whole and undamaged—consecrated to Him—set apart for His purpose]; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete and [be found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful and absolutely trustworthy is He who is calling you [to Himself for your salvation], and He will do it [He will fulfill His call by making you holy, guarding you, watching over you, and protecting you as His own].
God sanctifies us through the sacrifice of Christ, separating us from profane and vulgar things, making us pure, whole and ‘undamaged’, consecrated to Him, set apart for His purpose.
It is highly possible to be in the world but not tainted by it. And as we live a life ‘untainted’ by the world, we are like beacons shining forth God’s light. And although the world is corrupted by profane and vulgar things, we remain undamaged and pure, set apart by the work of the Holy Spirit residing in us—empowering us to live and walk by the Spirit. And this has only been made possible for us because of the blood of Christ shed on the cross.
Our entire beings: our spirit, soul & body are kept preserved, complete and found blameless at the coming of Jesus as we continue abiding in Him—walking and living our lives glorifying God and bringing Him honor through everything we do and say, because we solely and wholly belong to Him.
God is faithful and absolutely trustworthy to do it and fulfill His call by making us holy, guarding us, watching over us and protecting us as His own. God has our backs, no matter what life unravels.
