7 And quarreling arose between Abram’s herders and Lot’s. The Canaanites and Perizzites were also living in the land at that time.
8 So Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not have any quarreling between you and me, or between your herders and mine, for we are close relatives.
Pulling together is a better solution when there are tough times, but there are times when we let petty jealousy tear us apart. This happened between Lot and Abram. Christians often may bicker and allow evil to work. Disagreements can damage goodwill, trust, and peace. Disagreements prevent progress to resolution. Disagreements are self-centered. Jesus asks us to be one. Jesus asks us to be love-centered. If we keep this in mind when we have a disagreement, we can eliminate bickering. We can create goodwill, trust, and peace. We can come to resolution and be love-centered.
