Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us].
We live, here and now, in Christ’s resurrection victory. This isn’t just something we will experience when we die and are resurrected to eternal life. Resurrection victory is for now!
We have new life in Jesus. We have been “born again” and live in “newness of life”. We are “new creations” in Christ Jesus, and because Christ dwells within us, we have His resurrection life within us. Everything Christ accomplished on the cross is for now. He reconciled us to the Father and we are now His sons and daughters—we cry out “Abba Father”.
Christ has already won the victory for us and He has already given us the victory. Whether we live in Christ’s resurrection victory or live burdened with the stresses of life, the constant defeat and struggles which seem to be “our normal”, what it comes down to is “how we think”. Life does have its stress, struggles and moments of defeat, but how we think about these determines how we live our lives. Even in the midst of these moments in life, we can still live in Christ’s resurrection victory.
We can choose to praise Him and exalt Him high above our current circumstances. Choose to give over your burdens, releasing your stress, anger, frustration and turmoil to Him, then you will experience God’s peace. Choose to spend more time communing with Him instead of tuning into T.V., computer games or work. Having a healthy balance between work, leisure and time in God’s Word is so very important to being healthy and spiritually energized.
God loves you! He has promised you ‘life in abundance’—to the full! But living tired, stressful and in constant turmoil and struggle is not life in abundance—this is the enemy coming to kill, steal and destroy. We must be aware of this and not be lulled into believing the lies of the enemy, as if we have to accept stress, struggle and turmoil as just part of everyday life. Yes, these things do come to us in life, but they don’t have the right to control us or consume us. The bible is filled with promises regarding this.
We need to stand up, shake off these lies and hold firmly to what the Word of God says. It’s the only way to overcome and live in Christ’s resurrection victory! Get into God’s Word, arm yourself with it, align your thinking to His Word and allow His word to wash over you, water you and bring new growth. Choose to live, from this day forward, in Christ’s resurrection victory!
