Genesis 33:11 New International Version (NIV)
11 Please accept the present that was brought to you, for God has been gracious to me and I have all I need.” And because Jacob insisted, Esau accepted it.
Jacob sent gifts ahead of him. He may have been using the gifts to win over his brother’s support. He may have been expressing his love for his brother and showing his care for his brother. He may have wanted to greet his brother in this way to show his regard for his brother. Esau did not need the gifts. He refused the gifts because he had already forgiven Jacob. Esau had ample wealth of his own. But Jacob insisted because he had affection for his brother and probably wanted to be forgive. So his brother, Esau, accepted and showed forgiveness to his brother, Jacob.
