‘Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.’ John 20:30-31
I am so incredibly thankful that God inspired the authors of the Bible to reveal His plan for redemption. It’s our manual for life. It’s our glimpse into His wisdom for guidance and His inexpressible love to comfort us. It astounds me that I could have managed life for as long as I did without the connection provided by scripture. Without it, what a truly dark life it would be. And yet, there are so so many living that life of darkness. Blind to the truth and light that is Jesus. It is our solemn duty to offer examples of His truth and to be a lamp through which His light might shine for them. I know who He is. I also know how dark life is without Him. Because of that, I am obligated to do all that He compels me to, so that others might come into the warmth of His glorious light and know the Truth. Have a blessed Memorial weekend.
‘So when it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and *said to them, “Peace be with you.” And when He had said this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples then rejoiced when they saw the Lord. So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them and *said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they have been retained.” ‘ John 20:19-23
