John 1:14New Living Translation (NLT)
14 So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
The Word became flesh. This was the Father’s Gift to all mankind with no limitations. There are no limits on His love. There are no limits on His faithfulness. Jesus became the incarnate Word of God himself. Just thinking and writing about it gives me goose bumps.
There are two Greek words in the Bible that depict the term, ‘word’. First, you will see ‘rhema’ which means spoken word. A great example of that is found in Luke 1:38 where the angel told Mary that she would become the mother of God’s Son.
But the ‘word’ that is used here comes from the Greek work ‘logos’. This is used meaning total message. This is given in reference to God’s message to mankind.
Think about it this way for us today. The total message is not from a scribe, or a priest, or a prophet. The total package message or ‘The Gift” dwelt among us. When Jesus walked the planet in Israel, it was more than just His Words. It was His Message!
Obviously none of us has seen Christ physically, but some of us have seen Him in dreams and visions which are powerful gifts given at particular times. I have experienced such a gift once which came at a dark hour in my life.
The Gift of Jesus and His Message still exists today. How are you searching for it? James 4:8 says, ‘Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.’ What a gift! Pursue Him, men, with all your heart, soul, and spirit.
Strength and Courage
