1 Answer me when I call to you,
my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress;
have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
2 How long will you people turn my glory into shame?
How long will you love delusions and seek false gods?
3 Know that the Lord has set apart his faithful servant for himself;
the Lord hears when I call to him.
Godly people are those who are faithful and devoted to God. David knew that God would hear him when he called out to him. He knew God would answer him. God listens to your prayers and answers them when you call on him. You can be confident of this. You may think God will not hear you because you have fallen short of his standards for holy living. God forgives, and he will listen. If you feel like your prayers are going unheard, remember, as a believer in God, you have been set apart by God. He loves you. He hears and answers prayer in unexpected ways. Look at problems in the light of God’s power, and do not look at your problems in the shadow of your troubles.
