Genesis 33:4 New International Version (NIV)
4 But Esau ran to meet Jacob and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and kissed him. And they wept.
Esau greeted his brother with a hug. This must have been difficult. There had been a time when Esau had plotted Jacob’s death. What was the change of heart? Time away from each other allowed the bitter wounds to heal. It is amazing how the passing of time can help us see that relationship is more important than holding on to bitterness. Do you need some time to heal? Allow yourself time. Heal. Then, let go of the bitterness. Never hold on to bitterness. It will tear you down and never allow you to rebuild and live a good life.
