Until the Day

Philippians 1:6 (NASB)’For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. ‘

When we profess Jesus Christ Lord and Savior of our lives, the transformation to what He would see us be is not instantaneous.  Our development, growth and maturation is a process.  We start our christian lives as babes, born again.  As babies we must learn to crawl, walk, talk, think and run.  We’re starting over, only now we have the Holy Spirit to guide and perfect in us what Christ already sees.  The revelation provided us by the Holy Spirit must be cultivated by our actions and behaviors.  We will stumble, fall and mess up.  That’s part of the process.  As we gain experience, exposure, get stronger and more assured, as we allow the Holy Spirit to train us up and provide the revelation we need for maturity, the stumbling decreases.

This is a process that will continue for as long as we draw breath.  The rate at which we progress and the fullness we recognize, depends entirely upon our willingness to pursue Jesus Christ, to know Him and to know the Word.  Unfortunately, so many christians will never make it out of diapers.  They will choose to merely scratch the surface of what God offers us through the Holy Spirit.  So many will live a life content with the gift of salvation but will not pursue the fullness offered in deep relationship and communion with the Lord.  How do you want to live out your faith. “until the day”?  Have a blessed weekend.
