Job 1:8 New International Version (NIV)
8 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”
Job was a model of trust and obedience to God. Yet, God permitted Satan to attack him in an especially harsh way. God loves us but believing and obeying do not shelter us from life’s troubles. We will have setbacks, tragedies, and sorrows. But, here is the difference. In the bad times, do you express faith in God? Do you respond by looking to God and setting your eyes upon Jesus? Do you wonder, “Why me?” OR do you say, “Use me!” God is never caught off guard with our troubles, and he is compassionate. Keep your eyes on Jesus, trust God, and ask him to use you for his glory.
