Hebrews 10:19-23 New International Version (NIV)
A Call to Persevere in Faith
19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
When we pray In Jesus’ Name, I know that I come on the basis of who Jesus is. Jesus is my advocate with God, the Father. Jesus is righteous. Jesus comes alongside me and helps me. He pleads my case to God for me. Jesus is my High Priest, and I come with him. Jesus offers up my prayers to God on my behalf. I know my prayers reach God because of Jesus. Jesus speaks directly to God.
Dear Father, I have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place because I enter by the blood of Jesus. Jesus opened the curtain. Jesus is my Great Priest. May I draw near to God with a sincere heart and with full assurance that my faith brings. I am washed pure by the blood of Jesus. I hold to the hope through Jesus. Thank you. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
