18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High,
Who was Melchizedek? He was a God-fearing man. He was a priest of God Most High. He recognized God as the Creator of Heaven and Earth. He was a respected king. He was a type of Christ, in that, an Old Testament event resembles what Christ did and illustrates a lesson about Christ. Melchizedek was an appearance on earth of the preincarnate Christ in a temporary bodily form. What can we learn here? Live for God. Give your greatest loyalty to God. Serve God wholeheartedly. Love God.
