19 Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior,
who daily bears our burdens.
20 Our God is a God who saves;
from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death.
21 Surely God will crush the heads of his enemies,
the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins.
Salvation is freedom from sin and death. God sets you free. When you do not turn from sin and refuse to turn to God are crushed by sin and death. When a person does not turn from sin and turn to God, the love of that sin traps them, destroys them, and death will overcome them. When you turn to God, it is much better. When you love God and respect the consequences of sin by having esteem of God, it is much better. You are built up and not crushed. You can stand out in the light of day and not cower in the dark.
