Genesis 29:28-30 New International Version (NIV)
28 And Jacob did so. He finished the week with Leah, and then Laban gave him his daughter Rachel to be his wife. 29 Laban gave his servant Bilhah to his daughter Rachel as her attendant. 30 Jacob made love to Rachel also, and his love for Rachel was greater than his love for Leah. And he worked for Laban another seven years.
Although Jacob got tricked by Laban, he still kept his part of the bargain. He had more at stake than being tricked. He had Rachel to think about, and there was God’s plan for his life that he had to hold on to. If you get deceived by someone, still keep your part of the bargain. That is the wise thing to do. Do not nurse old wounds or plot revenge. You will not be able to see things from God’s perspective. Keep a level head and follow through with wise and godly actions.
