6 “‘I will set my face against anyone who turns to mediums and spirits to prostitute themselves by following them, and I will cut them off from their people.
Everyone is interested in what the future holds. Many times we look to others for guidance. God warns us about looking into the occult for advice. Mediums and psychics were outlawed because God was not the source of the information. At best they are fakes and at worst, they are in contact with evil spirits which are dangerous. Do not look into the occult for advice. God has given us the Bible, and the teaching in the Bible is trustworthy.
