Fear the Lord
12 And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own
Often we may ask this question. What does God expect of me? Moses gives a summary that is in a simple form. It is easy to remember. Here are the following essentials of what is expected of you: 1- Have reverence for God. 2- Live in a way that is pleasing to God. 3- Love God. 4- Serve God with all your heart and soul. 5- Obey God’s commands. Many times we complicate faith with manmade rules and regulations. If you are frustrated and burned out from trying to please God, focus on his true requirements. You will find peace. RESPECT – FOLLOW – LOVE – SERVE – OBEY
