20 About Gad he said:
“Blessed is he who enlarges Gad’s domain!
Gad lives there like a lion,
tearing at arm or head.
21 He chose the best land for himself;
the leader’s portion was kept for him.
When the heads of the people assembled,
he carried out the Lord’s righteous will,
and his judgments concerning Israel.”
The people of Gad received the best land. They obeyed God. They punished Israel’s wicked enemies. There is a time and place for punishment. I can be unpleasant for the giver and the receiver, but it is part of growth. Are you in a position to correct others? We all have a time in our life when we are correcting another or we are being corrected. Realistic discipline is important to character development. Strive to be just and merciful. Keep in mind the best interests of the one who is receiving the correction. Be Just. Be Merciful.
