21 While each man held his position around the camp, all the Midianites ran, crying out as they fled.
The army watched as the Midians fell into panic and confusion. Not one man had to draw a sword. Gideon’s small army could not have brought about such a victory in its own strength. God uses our weaknesses to demonstrate his power. He shows himself through our shortcomings. God wanted to demonstrate to Israel that victory depends on obedience and commitment to him and not on strength. Do you feel like you have shortcomings that you cannot overcome in your own strength. Start obeying and committing to God and watch what you are able to do through his strength. God will use your weakness to show you who you are through him. Depend on God’s strength.
