Back when I was in college, sometimes I would travel back and forth across the state to visit my family at different times of the day and night. I recall some Winter nights in the middle of the country where it almost seemed like day time under the light of a full moon reflected by all the snow. So much so, that I turned off my headlights for a section of road and really didn’t need them to see where I was going. I didn’t leave them off the entire trip, because no one else could see me, even though I thought I could see everything else perfectly well. That and there was definitely a difference to driving in the day. Have you ever thought you could see a situation well until some new light was shed and you found out you were really in the dark?
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105
There are times when we think we may be right in a given situation, but once we are born again and consult God’s word about it, we may find out that we were in the wrong. When we are new to the faith, we may be looking and consulting those around us for examples of how to live in this new life, which should give you a pretty good idea. But as we all know, our friends and family are not always perfect, and maybe didn’t get have it all down, but given time, God continues to refine us through the Word and Spirit. Whenever we go back to his word, he will always give us direction to see whether or not we are on the right path, making good choices, and living honorably to Him and others. May you always use the right Light to guide your path!
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
