Psalm 60
1 You have rejected us, God, and burst upon us;
you have been angry—now restore us!
2 You have shaken the land and torn it open;
mend its fractures, for it is quaking.
3 You have shown your people desperate times;
you have given us wine that makes us stagger.
4 But for those who fear you, you have raised a banner
to be unfurled against the bow.
5 Save us and help us with your right hand,
that those you love may be delivered.
During David’s God ordained conquest of Israel, David’s forces met stiff resistance. There were some temporary defeats. There were evil people going against Israel. David acknowledged God’s role in success, as well as, asking for help in defeat. There will always be attack from unbelieving people around you who do not follow God’s commands and who do not believe in God. When going through attack from people around you, know that the closer you get to God, the more they feel threatened because of their evil and selfish ways of living. In the world, Christians will always be attacked because the world is selfish, self serving, greedy, and evil. As a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, you are saved and delivered from evil.
