God longs to guide with love and wisdom.

⁶ Therefore let all the faithful pray to you
    while you may be found;
surely the rising of the mighty waters
    will not reach them.
⁷ You are my hiding place;
    you will protect me from trouble
    and surround me with songs of deliverance.

Some people are like mules that have to be controlled by bits and bridles. Rather than allowing God to guide them, God has to use discipline and punishment. God longs to guide with love and wisdom. He offers to teach you the best way to go. Heed God’s advice in his Word and keep from stubbornness that takes you down a sinful path. Obey God.
