Proverbs 19:17-21 New International Version (NIV)
17 Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord,
and he will reward them for what they have done.
18 Discipline your children, for in that there is hope;
do not be a willing party to their death.
19 A hot-tempered person must pay the penalty;
rescue them, and you will have to do it again.
20 Listen to advice and accept discipline,
and at the end you will be counted among the wise.
21 Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
Dear Lord, I am to be kind to the poor and help. I am to guide and discipline my children so that they are kind to others and have life. I am to keep my temper in check, and when I receive godly advice, I will listen. If I need discipline, I will be humble and teachable. I may have plans, but your purposes will prevail, Lord. Keep me in your protection and provision. Give me your presence all the days of my life. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
