Deuteronomy 8:3 New International Version (NIV)
3 He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
Jesus quoted this Bible verse when the devil tempted him to turn stones into bread. Do you think life is about satisfying your wants? Do you think earning more money and more money can buy you the things you desire? Do you think more money will give you the good life? Do you think having the right clothes or things will make you happy? These things do not satisfy your deepest longings. In the end all the stuff will leave you empty and dissatisfied. Real Life comes from total commitment to God and living by every Word that comes from him. How do you do this? First, recognize your need for God. Next, agree that God alone can truly satisfy you. Then, pray for God’s presence, wisdom, and direction. Finally, read his Word and savor your relationship with God through Christ Jesus. In conclusion, put this into practice and watch miracles happen in your life.
