Genesis 14:14-16 New International Version (NIV)
14 When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan. 15 During the night Abram divided his men to attack them and he routed them, pursuing them as far as Hobah, north of Damascus. 16 He recovered all the goods and brought back his relative Lot and his possessions, together with the women and the other people.
Abram had two very distinct characteristics. He had courage that came from God to attack his enemy. He prepared beforehand by training his men for conflict. You never know when you will face the enemy, so it will do you well to be prepared. Prepare for those times when you may have conflict, and build your courage through God. Are you involved in a conflict? Get your courage from God, and work your way through the conflict. Each conflict you allow God to help you get through, you will learn and grow in how you deal with it.
