Saul made a ridiculous command and had driven men to sin. He would not back down even at the expense of his own son. Have you ever made a ridiculous statement? It may be difficult to admit you are wrong to save face, but you really are not saving face. It just compounds the problem or issue. It takes more courage to admit you are wrong than to stay stubbornly in error. You will gain more respect when admitting wrong and working to correct the issue.
