Determine A Person’s Character

15 Then she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when you won’t confide in me? This is the third time you have made a fool of me and haven’t told me the secret of your great strength.” 16 With such nagging she prodded him day after day until he was sick to death of it.

17 So he told her everything. “No razor has ever been used on my head,” he said, “because I have been a Nazirite dedicated to God from my mother’s womb. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as any other man.”

Samson was deceived by appearance and lust. Have you ever wanted to believe what someone was saying because you cared for them, but realized they were lying? When you care for someone, it can be hard to separate the character flaw with the truth. Before you let someone into your life whom you would like to spend the rest of your life with decide what kind of person you would like to be with. Look at the person’s character and faith in God. Most of the time you spend with a spouse involves day to day life. Your spouse’s commitment to solving problems, temperament, and personality must be a compliment to your own. Do not let the outward appearance throw you off. What matters most is what is beneath.
