What is a god? A god is whatever a person may use as a driving force in his or her life. There are cults and strange religions that are very obvious. Then, there are subtle gods like power, money, prestige, and building a life around something that is temporary. Do you devote yourself to something other than God like power, money, or popularity? Here is how you put God first. You first recognize what is taking his place as first in your life. Next, denounce this substitute as not worthy of being placed before God. Go to God and ask his forgiveness. Finally, work with God to restructure your priorities so that your love for God is the motive for everything you do. Learn to walk with God. Finally, as you are putting God first and walking with him daily, examine yourself regularly to keep on the narrow path with God. Read your Bible daily and spend time with God.
