21 And who is like your people Israel—the one nation on earth whose God went out to redeem a people for himself, and to make a name for yourself, and to perform great and awesome wonders by driving out nations from before your people, whom you redeemed from Egypt?
David referenced Israel’s exodus from Egypt. This was significant to the people. Remembering God’s promises would give the Israelites returning back to Israel from captivity in Babylon. The first exodus was leaving captivity from Egypt. The second exodus was leaving captivity from Babylon and returning back to Israel. David encouraged the people to remember God’s promises, mercy, and protection during the first exodus from Egypt. As they were returning from Babylon once again. God promised them the land.
