Genesis 6:15 New International Version (NIV)
15 This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high.
The boat that Noah built was no small feat. The boat was one and a half football fields in length. It was as tall as a four-story building. It was exactly six times longer that it was wide. This is the same ratio used by modern ship builders today. This huge boat was built miles from any body of water. It was built not knowing what rain was. Noah was motivated by God’s promises and by his Word. Noah obeyed God’s commands. How are you motivated when you cannot see the end product or what God may have for you? Are you motivated by faith in God’s promises? Are you ready to obey God’s commands? We can learn life lessons from Noah. God is faithful to those who obey him. God may not always protect you from trouble, but he will care for you in spite of the trouble. Obedience is a long-term commitment. Are you ready to invest yourself in a faithful commitment to God?
