Are there any areas in your life where you are on constant guard against sin? Ares where you have stumbled in the past and know that there is potential to falter again, given an opportunity? Its not to say you may not sin in other areas, but just a few were you know you are prone to slip, an Achilles Heel, so to speak. Well, being aware of these areas if half the battle, as if we are in denial, then it may be more of a struggle. Our strategy may be one of pure determination, where we take measures to avoid giving in to this sin, and not putting ourselves in situations where we have messed up in the past. If we are prone to anger, we may want to react to situations with retaliation and cutting remarks toward others, but giving ourselves time to calm down and reply sensibly is usually a better option, and may even give room for forgiveness. Also, if you have trusted friends who are willing to walk with you in your struggles, having someone to be accountable to is also beneficial toward helping us produce good fruit. So, as you walk through each day, may you be aware of potential pitfalls and slippery slopes which may lead you down paths you know you should avoid and be grateful for each victorious journey!
Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil. Ephesians 4:26-27
