15 As she got up to glean, Boaz gave orders to his men, “Let her gather among the sheaves and don’t reprimand her. 16 Even pull out some stalks for her from the bundles and leave them for her to pick up, and don’t rebuke her.”
Boaz is an example of good character in action. He went far beyond the intent of the gleaners’ law. He demonstrated he generosity and kindness. He allowed the poor to glean in his field, and he had his workers let some of the grain fall to the ground. Ruth was able to glean in the field, and she was able to obtain the fallen grain, as well. Boaz provided out of his abundance for the needy. Do you go beyond your abundance? Do you provide for those less fortunate? Do more than the minimum for others. Go beyond.
