Genesis 50:24-26 New International Version (NIV)
24 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die. But God will surely come to your aid and take you up out of this land to the land he promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” 25 And Joseph made the Israelites swear an oath and said, “God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up from this place.”
26 So Joseph died at the age of a hundred and ten. And after they embalmed him, he was placed in a coffin in Egypt.
God was going to make Jacob’s family into a great nation. He would lead them out of Egypt and bring them into the land that he had promised. The Israelites would rely heavily on God’s promise. They must, yet there were times they failed. They would fine their motivation and courage by focusing on God. They realized that God was with them even when they failed or faltered. Have you ever failed or done the wrong thing? Know that God is for you and with you even in your failures. Grow your faithfulness in and reliance on God. He has giving you abilities and gifts to use. Be encouraged. Learn from your failures and grow closer to God. You are his work in progress, and he loves you.
