1 In the Lord I take refuge.
How then can you say to me:
“Flee like a bird to your mountain.
2 For look, the wicked bend their bows;
they set their arrows against the strings
to shoot from the shadows
at the upright in heart.
3 When the foundations are being destroyed,
what can the righteous do?”
4 The Lord is in his holy temple;
the Lord is on his heavenly throne.
He observes everyone on earth;
his eyes examine them.
David was forced to flee several times. He was God’s anointed, but that did not make him immune to injustice from others and hatred from others. When you are in times of trouble or others are being unkind to you, remember God is in control. Do not be fearful of your troubles or others who are unkind to you. Take everything to God. He examines everything. God is greater. You can be optimistic because God will restore justice and goodness in his time. In the meantime as you go through difficult times, take everything to God.
