11 The day after the Passover, that very day, they ate some of the produce of the land: unleavened bread and roasted grain. 12 The manna stopped the day after they ate this food from the land; there was no longer any manna for the Israelites, but that year they ate the produce of Canaan.
God had supplied the Israelites with manna for 40 years. Can you imagine having your daily food miraculously waiting for you on the ground each day? That is what they had in the desolate land they were in for the 40 years. Now, they were entering a land that would produce amazing produce for them. The Israelites would no longer need the manna because they could plant and harvest the Promised Land. God had provided food in the wilderness, and now he was providing the land where food could be grown. Here is some important information. Prayer is not an alternative to preparation and faith in not a substitute for hard work. God will provide for his people’s needs as needed, but God expects his people to use their God given talents and resources to provide for themselves. Have your prayers gone unanswered? Is what you need within reach, and you just cannot motivate yourself? Possibly prayer for wisdom to see and ears to hear, as well as, the energy and motivation to go out and do what you need to do is what you need. You may need to go out and work for it.
