47 After Saul had assumed rule over Israel, he fought against their enemies on every side: Moab, the Ammonites, Edom, the kings of Zobah, and the Philistines. Wherever he turned, he inflicted punishment on them.
Why was Saul successful right after he disobeyed God? Then, he was told his reign would end. We need to know that God allows ungodly people to win battles. Victory is not limited to the righteous. God provides according to his will. God may give success for the sake of his plans, not for the person. God will use the talents of a person for God’s will to be done. Regardless of God’s reasons, everything happens exactly the way God foretold. The timing of God’s plans and promises is known only to him. What is your task in all of this that we go through now? Commit your ways to God, and trust God for the outcome. There may be battles won by ungodly people, but God wins the war. Do not lose heart and do not give up. Trust God’s timing.
