Deuteronomy 5:29 New International Version (NIV)
29 Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever!
God told Moses that he wanted the people to incline their hearts to want to respect and obey him. There is a difference between doing something because it is required and doing something because you want to do it. God does not want forced respect and obedience. He does not want rule keeping. God wants your heart that is completely dedicated to him. He wants your life to be willingly dedicated. When you love God, obedience will follow.
