Genesis 43:12 New International Version (NIV)
12 Take double the amount of silver with you, for you must return the silver that was put back into the mouths of your sacks. Perhaps it was a mistake.
Joseph’s brothers arrived home from Egypt only to find in their grain sacks money they had used to pay for the grain. Then, months later, when it was time to return to Egypt for more food. Jacob told his sons to take extra money, so they could pay for the previous food that was brought back, as well as, to purchase more grain on this visit. Jacob did not try to get away with anything. He was acting with integrity. He paid for what he bought. Look at this as an example for your life. Follow Jacob’s example and guard your integrity. Work on a reputation for honesty. Having integrity and a reputation of honesty is worth far more than the money or recognition you may gain by compromising yourself.
