14 Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are attentive to their cry;
16 but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
to blot out their name from the earth.
17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
Peace comes from effort. We need to work for peace. Do not be argumentative or contentious because there will always be trouble in this world. There is no escape from it. It will happen one way or another. Grief, loss, sorrow, and failure are all apart of this world. There are daily frustrations that can wear us down. What does God do and what can we do? We can put an effort to being peaceful with others by listening, watching, and learning. Remember that people that try to hurt others are working out of pain, so if you can see them through God’s eyes, you can have peace of mind in your actions and reactions of peace. God promises to be close to the brokenhearted and be our courage, source of power, and wisdom. He will help you through problems or deliver you from a problem. Look for God’s help and he will be by your side as you live in peace.
