Job was experiencing extreme physical pain, as well as, he was experiencing grief over the loss of his family and possessions. We cannot blame him for wishing he were dead. He was at a crossroads with his faith. Many misconceptions about God were being shattered. The misconceptions that God makes you rich if you believe in him, he keeps you from trouble and pain, he protects your loved ones. Job had to go back to the basics. Job could curse God and give up, OR he could continue to trust God and draw on strength and courage from him to continue on through bad times. If you never give up or never give in like Job, you will come through with a stronger relationship with God, and you will grow in your faith and belief.
