Genesis 46:3-4 New International Version (NIV)
3 “I am God, the God of your father,” he said. “Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there. 4 I will go down to Egypt with you, and I will surely bring you back again. And Joseph’s own hand will close your eyes.”
God told Jacob to leave his home and travel to Egypt. This was a strange and far away place for Jacob and his family, but God did reassure him by promising to go with him and take care of him. Jacob never returned to Canaan, but God promised that his descendants would return. Jacob would die in Egypt with Joseph by his side. God promised him that he would never know the pain of being lonely. Do you have a situation or situations that may be frightening you? Have you moved to a new and strange place? Experiencing fear is normal, but do not be paralyzed by fear. God will take care of you. You do not even have to question that. Be still and know that God is God. He will take care of you and your situations. Go to God with your every concern. He wants to be a part of all of your life.
