Genesis 37:28 New International Version (NIV)
28 So when the Midianite merchants came by, his brothers pulled Joseph up out of the cistern and sold him for twenty shekels of silver to the Ishmaelites, who took him to Egypt.
Even though Joseph’s brothers did not kill him, they did not expect him to survive. They were willing to let the cruel slave traders to do the dirty work. Joseph would have to walk for over 30 days, he would be chained, and would be treated like baggage. After getting to Egypt, he would be sold. The brothers thought they would never see Joseph again. But, God is in control, and Joseph’s life was in God’s hands. God had plans for him. God has plans for you. He has plans to prosper you and not to harm you. He has plans for a hope and a future. Love God with all your heart.
