Have you ever been so sure of something? Jacob was so sure no one had stolen Laban’s idols that he vowed to kill the offender. Rachel had taken the idols, and her safety was at stake. Even when you feel so sure about something, make sure to avoid any rash statements. Rash statements may bring tragedy, and someone may hold you to them. Your yes should be a yes, and your no should be a no. Do not swear or over embellish a promise or statement.
