Genesis 42:8-9 New International Version (NIV)
8 Although Joseph recognized his brothers, they did not recognize him. 9 Then he remembered his dreams about them and said to them, “You are spies! You have come to see where our land is unprotected.”
Joseph remembered his dreams about his brothers bowing down to him. Those dreams were coming true. As a young boy, he had been boastful about his dreams. As a man, he no longer flaunted his superior status. He did not feel the need to tell them he had told them so about his dreams coming true. He kept quiet. He knew it was not the time to reveal his identity. Have you ever needed to keep quiet and allow God to work out a situation? Sometimes it is best to remain quiet even if you may want the last word. Remaining quiet allows God to work and it develops your character through God. Remaining quiet and choosing your words wisely will allow God to work in your life and situations that you will encounter.
