24 When they had brought these kings to Joshua, he summoned all the men of Israel and said to the army commanders who had come with him, “Come here and put your feet on the necks of these kings.” So they came forward and placed their feet on their necks.
25 Joshua said to them, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Be strong and courageous. This is what the Lord will do to all the enemies you are going to fight.”
With God’s help, Israel won the battle against the five armies. This triumph was part of God’s plan as he worked things out for his people. Joshua encouraged the people to have strength and courage because God would give them more victories over their enemies. When you belong to God, he empowers you to win your victories. God has led you in the past, and he will lead you in the present and future. Remember God is there to help you, and he gives you hope for the struggles that will come in this life.
