What is true for pure people? What is true for those who do not believe in the Gospel?
Titus 1:15-16 New International Version (NIV)
15 To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.16 They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.
Legalism says: You should not do this because it is sin.
The Gospel says: You need not do this because God is bigger and better than this sin.
Think of a couple of sins you are struggling with. Are you seeking to resist them in a legalistic way or in a Gospel way? How can you apply Gospel Truth to yourself the next time you are tempted?
Thank God that there is a truth that leads to godliness. Praise him for ways in which you are growing in Christ-likeness.
